(14/8/2024) The Center for Excellence in Javanologi Universitas Sebelas Maret  officially signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Faculty of Humanities, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN), Malang. This signing event took place on Thursday, August 15 2024, on the sidelines of the Ethnolinguistic Research Workshop which was held at the Humanities Faculty Auditorium, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. PUI Javanology UNS was represented by Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., as Head of Center of Excellence Javanologi, while from the Faculty of Humanities represented by Dr. M. Faisol as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.

This signing is part of strengthening the academic and cultural synergy between Javanologi UNS and the Humanities Faculty of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The agreement covers various areas of strategic cooperation, including organizing seminars, research collaboration, cultural training and student arts activities. The hope is that this collaboration can open up new opportunities for UNS Javanology and the Faculty of Humanities in developing cultural and scientific studies, especially those related to local wisdom and Javanese culture.

Dr. M. Faisol stated that this collaboration was a strategic effort to strengthen academic and cultural networks at the national level. “This collaboration is a strategic step for the Faculty of Humanities in broadening horizons and deepening cultural studies, especially those related to Javanologi. With this collaboration, we hope to produce superior research, inspiring seminars, and artistic activities that will not only enrich students “, but also make a real contribution to the preservation and development of Indonesian culture,” said Dr. M. Faisol.

He added that this activity was in line with the vision of the Faculty of Humanities to become a center of excellence in developing humanities sciences based on cultural and religious values. “This collaboration is not just a formality, but also a form of our commitment to continue to develop and contribute to the academic and cultural fields,” he added.

Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo welcomed the implementation of this collaboration, he hopes it can be a positive first step in strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between Javanologi, UNS Surakarta, and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of science and cultural preservation in Indonesia.
