Centre of Excellence Javanologi continuously participated in the dissemination of superior Javanese cultural arts products to the general public and the academic community of Universitas Sebelas Maret on Friday-Saturday, 21-22 June 2024 at the dr. Prakosa UNS Rectory area. This program is a series of activities for the 48th anniversary of UNS. This exhibition was attended by approximately 50 tenants and participants from within and outside the university.
CoE Javanologi UNS raised the theme “Omah Diaspora Jawa Dunia”, which translates to “Home of the World Javanese Diaspora” as the icon of this period’s exhibition. There are photographs documenting the ancestors of the Javanese diaspora from various countries such as Suriname, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and New Caledonia. There is also the book “Suriname Discovered” which is a photo gallery of landscapes and cultural aspect in Suriname. Apart from that, PUI Javanologi UNS also displays collections from the UNS Museum such as ancient lontar manuscripts, traditional Jamu herbs, as well as research products from researchers at CoE Javanologi UNS. All collections on display can be accessed directly by visitors at the UNS Museum at Javanologi building.
