Centre of Excellence Javanologi Universitas Sebelas Maret organized the TOP 10 UNS JAWAMETRIK 2023 Awarding Night on Friday, 21 July 2023 at Pendhapa R.Ng. Yasadipura. This event was held with the aim of giving awards to the 10 best institutions that play an active role in the preservation and development of Javanese culture. The 2023 UNS Jawametrik Awarding Night was attended by the UNS Chancellor who in this case was represented by PLT Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UNS Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T. along with the ranks, Chancellors from various universities, Deans, Institutional leaders, artists, to humanists.
The chairman of UNS Jawametrik, Ir. Ary Setiawan, M.Sc., Ph.D. said that UNS Jawametrik had identified 117 institutions from 23 countries, 5 continents, which were actively researching and developing Javanese culture, then it was announced that the 10 best institutions would be awarded. PLT. Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T. in his remarks representing the Rector of UNS said that it is hoped that UNS Jawametrik will contribute to the development of Javanese culture, world culture, and world peace.
The 10 best institutions in preserving Javanese culture according to UNS Jawametrik 2023 are 1) Universitas Sebelas Maret, 2) Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 3) Universitas Negeri Semarang, 4) Universitas Gadjah Mada, 5) Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta, 6) Universitas PGRI Semarang, 7) Universitas Indonesia, 8) Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, 9) Leiden University, dan 10) Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. One of the representatives who received the award, namely Prof. Dr. Bernard Arps from Leiden University, The Netherlands, expressed his pride, because even though he is from outside Java, he managed to receive the 2023 UNS Jawametrik award.
Enlivened by Keroncong Launching
The UNS Jawametrik 2023 Award Ceremony was packaged very attractively and was enlivened by Karawitan Sekar Rinonce Dharma Wanita UNS Unit led by Ms. Budhi Wijayanti Jamal Wiwoho by presenting a medley of songs entitled: Gula Klapa, Kuwi Apa Kuwi, Modernisasi Desa, and Gugur Gunung. Not only that, the UNS Jawametrik 2023 event was also enlivened by the “Pancabangsa” Keroncong Launching Concert which presented a song entitled “Jawa Makmur”. Keroncong Pancabangsa is performed in 5 languages: Javanese, Indonesian, English, Dutch and Mandarin.
