If we dissect the words nabok, it can be interpreted as slapping, hitting, and or hurting. ‘Nyilih‘ comes from the root word silih which means to borrow, then gets the affix ny- which means to borrow. Meanwhile, ‘tangan‘ in this proverb can be interpreted as a real name or hand.
Friends of Javanologi, this proverb that has a negative connotation is usually pinned on someone who acts cowardly, is not chivalrous, or cunning, and wants the good of his name to be maintained. A simple example is when someone wants revenge or wants to hurt a party, but he orders someone else to be the executor. So that the good name of the first party will be maintained.
