Batik Sogan is one of Indonesian batik which has traditional vibes because with the brown classic colour domination. Named Batik Sogan due to the process of coloring batik itself using natural dyes taken from the trunk of the Soga tree (Peltophorum pterocarpum). The classic Sogan batik is a type of batik that is identical to the Javanese palace area, namely Yogyakarta and Solo.
Motif batik Sogan known since the existence of Islam in Java island which furthermore the development of the motif is processed by Wali Songo. It has stated above that this batik is identical to the area of Java Keraton namely Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat (Yogyakarta) and Surakarta Hadiningrat (Solo). Nowadays, this batik can be wear by anyone, not only the keraton family but the general public can also use it.
The unique thing from the batik sogan that it is different with the others batik which are using chemical dyes, the batik is produced with the natural dyes which has a difficulty find the identical twin of it. Its uniqueness is that it is difficult to create the same color even at the same time of coloring, giving sogan batik an exclusive impression. One fabric with another, even though produced at the same time, the results must be different.
