To enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary event, the Center of Excellence Javanologi UNS held the World Dance Event 4.6 (WDE 4.6) or Dunia Menari 4.6. This activity was organized on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Hall of Building C, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNS. The special purpose of this event is to invite all citizens of the world to move and dance together in an atmosphere of joy so that they can immediately get out of the chaos of the Covid-19 Pandemic through cultural intervention. Until now, health restoration remains a major need. However, various other forms of efforts related to resilience and strengthening of mental and spiritual immunity, economic and social recovery of the community, are also very important.

 

Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum said that Universitas Sebelas Maret has a great commitment in developing science and technology based on national cultural excellence. The UNS academic community will always continue to work hard to improve UNS recognition as a world-class university, develop culture – especially Javanese, which consistently encourages the improvement of the quality of life of the Indonesian people and the entire world community according to the potential for excellence within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia, UNS always appear at the forefront of encouraging the acceleration of recovery and revival from the slump of the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

PUI Javanologi UNS creative team led by Ms. Pujiyani and Mr. Sugiyanto succeeded in creating Beksan Smarasanta which also means ‘Dance of the Nurturer’. Beksan Smarasanta is designed to be easy to memorize and practice, healthy for the body, with a mix of Javanese music accompaniment, and of course the characteristics of Universitas Sebelas Maret. Beksan Smarasanta also builds a spirit of joy, fosters mental and spiritual immunity, and finds the right cultural strategy to rise together to organize civilization in the New Normal Era.

 

World Dance Events 4.6. turned out to be successful in attracting the attention of the world. WDE 4.6 participants were 65 contingents who came from elements of the Indonesian Embassy (14 countries) and various universities, Diaspora, International Arts and Culture circles, as well as university students (from 30 countries). The total WDE 4.6 participants came from 44 countries, namely: Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Brunei Darussalam, China, Chile, Costa Rica, Philippines, Finland, England, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Namibia, New Caledonia, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Poland, Qatar, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Slovakia, Suriname, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, United States of America, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

 

PUI Javanologi UNS hopes that in the future it can carry out similar activities, namely Teko Jahe, Javanese Cultural Award, International Meeting, World Cultural Event, and various International Courses. PUI Javanologi UNS hopes that in 2023 it can better realize the Commercialization and Internationalization Program of Javanese Culture to contribute to peace and a new world civilization. Of course, the results of these activities will raise the flag even more and make UNS a World Class University.
