Surakarta, February 2025 – The Center of Excellence for Javanology (PUI Javanologi) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) continues to make its mark in the international cultural arena. This time, information available on the Javanology website regarding batik has been cited in the latest book titled Fabric Dyeing Around the World and Its History, authored by Park So-Hyun and Lee Bo-Young from Korea National Open University.

Published in February 2025, this book explores various fabric dyeing techniques from around the world, along with their historical significance and unique characteristics. In one section, Korea National Open University references several batik patterns from the Javanologi website, including Batik Sidomukti, Batik Sekar Jagad, and Batik Sidoluhur, which hold deep philosophical meanings and are closely linked to Javanese culture.

As a leading center for Javanese cultural studies, PUI Javanologi provides comprehensive information on batik, covering historical aspects, philosophical meanings, and dyeing techniques. The recognition of Javanology as an academic reference highlights the continued global interest in Javanese batik and its appreciation as a valuable cultural heritage.

With the inclusion of references to PUI Javanologi in this book, it is hoped that more people worldwide will recognize and appreciate the richness of Javanese cultural heritage, particularly in batik fabric dyeing art. PUI Javanologi UNS remains committed to developing Javanese cultural studies and promoting batik as an integral part of world heritage.
